as you may know … one of my 2010 resolutions was to “update my look” and I am so proud to introduce to you … my new blog!! it has bigger and better images to display more accurate color! { and now my photos are able to take center stage }

i spent the entire day shooting … and in between shoots, i was able to capture something so precious.
this is caelan + koa … the loves of my life {and my husband of course}.

{newborn} addison

life got too busy to do kara + adam’s belly shoot, but i am so happy i was able to meet this beautiful family for addison’s newborn session. i swear this little girl is going to be a model … she arrived at my in home studio at 2 weeks and was as long as my 2 month old little boy and half his weight … tall, skinny + beautiful. and she already loves things “her way” … she didn’t want to be curled up into a ball, she loved putting her hands in her mouth and really wanted to be extra warm; such a princess. thank you kara + adam for introducing me to your little bundle of joy. she is precious! i can’t wait to see her grow.

*i started this blog entry with my very favorite photo … i can just picture this as a canvas in their home.
how gorgeous is this mother/daughter portrait?! they are fiercely beautiful!!

{married} rachelle + seth

it typically doesn’t rain in january … it snows!
the rain was as unique as rachelle + seth’s beautiful wedding day. with only 31 guests invited to their wedding, it was the most intimate wedding i have ever attended. each and every guest was able to mingle with one another and although there were a lot of friends; it truly felt like one large family.

rachelle + seth opted to see one another before the ceremony {which i just adore} and we were able to find unique locations within the church {due to the cold winter rain} to shoot bride + groom portraits before the ceremony. i also absolutely love that they were willing to venture outside into the rain to capture some amazing evening images. and their reception at lurcat was one of the most elegant settings i have seen. thank you seth + rachelle for inviting me to share with you in your day, i feel honored.

{newborn} luna

luna means moon.
and this little cutie sure does shine a bright new light in her family’s life. her grandmother even flew in from brazil to meet this little princess. i am so happy i was able to capture these family moments with grandma.

{maternity} tammy + sean

i am so happy tammy + sean have made it beyond week 35 {what their doctor is calling the safety zone}! tammy was able to take herself “off” bed rest for a quick maternity shoot and we had a wonderful time. they are such sweet people and so deserving of this new little addition. we had a lot of fun shooting at the calhoun beach club {where they used to reside} and what a beautiful location!! i just loved the lighting in the ballroom, yummy! congrats again, i can’t wait to meet your little guy; he’s destine to be gorgeous.

and yes, i learned i apparently have mad bow tying skills …

i kicked off my 2010 wedding season saturday {in the january rain} and i am just bursting with excitement … their images are gorgeous.
i couldn’t resist posting a sneak peak … here we come 2010, i am so excited for all my upcoming weddings; it’s going to be a wild + fabulous ride.

{family} pfingsten + borkon + hewson

the holidays really make you appreciate all you have in life and the pfingsten + borkon + hewson family is no different. the entire family was in town celebrating christmas and took the opportunity to capture a memorable family portrait. they are such sweet people … i think of them as the type of people you want to aspire to be like one day. if the world were only filled with more grandfather’s who “top off your coffee” with more grandmothers/mom’s who “genuinely appreciate their children + every smile” with uncles who “would give their lives for their nephews” and for dad’s who … well, I think they’ll love sports . they even followed through as grown children with the tradition of the “family totem pole” … time passes quickly, memories live strong.

{maternity} simone + carlos

in the midst of having a baby and getting my business revamped for 2010, i realized this morning that i never posted this maternity shoot {and its one of my favorites}.

simone + carlos + their dog carlita joined me for their maternity shoot on a brisk fall day. They had really wanted to capture minnesota and its ever changing seasons, so what better place than lake calhoun?! it had the perfect combination of beautiful changing leaves, the glimmering lake and yet didn’t lack the color and urban texture i look for in a shooting location. simone + carlos are from honduras … so my very favorite shots from the day were by the random phone booth we found {they are few and far between now a days, so i felt it was fait}. going through such an amazing experience miles from home + their families really made me feel like the image connected with what they are going through. *enjoy!

{engaged} amanda + tony

i met amanda + tony for their engagement session and the day was filled with laughter. it kicked off with a text message i received from tony asking “if i would mind if they did 3 outfits instead of 2″ … being the flexible person i am, of course i agreed … and that’s when the final text came in “great brandis! we really wanted to get a few in our matching denim shirts + jeans for our save the dates, see you soon.” filling my car with laughter, i knew we were about to have an amazing time together. they both have an unbelievable sense of humor and we often times found it was hard to wipe the grins off our faces. the two of them are incredibly sarcastic {so my wit fit in perfectly} and i loved watching them interact with one another. once again, i was blessed with fabulous clients who were very open to my crazy ideas and in the end … their images turned out gorgeous! *congrats again you two.
